Really enjoyed the book the continuation of the story of Ira Pointer love that the idea of what are elders, and what is an elder led church are presented in an easy to read story the concepts really help to stick it was interesting that a mystery was added to this story.

  2. Corey Hughes says:

A good summary study in story format of the governance of the local church Belcher leaves the reader hungry forpractical application of the study presented in the book As for a novel it engages the reader into the thoughts and study throughout As the Christian reads he must not walk away with a non conclusion on the topic but instead use the argument presented as a basis of further study and prayer on the matter.

  3. Bob says:

I give this four stars for the content If you re completely uninterested in the doctrine of church leadership, I wouldn t recommend you take the time In this case, the plot that serves as the basis for the author s doctrinal pursuit is just not that engaging It involves the threat on the life of one of the characters But the result of Ira Pointer s investigation on the question of a biblical case for elder leadership vs congregational leadership is worth working through the rest of it.

  4. Don Henrikson says:

Another fun theological novel by Richard Belcher Following Brother Ira as he considers church government, the book weaves his pastoral adventures they really are adventures with his study of Scripture Though I do not find his conclusions on church government entirely compelling, I was challenged to consider why I disagree in those few areas where I did.
